Pineapple Amigurumi Key Chain

Pineapple Amigurumi Free Pattern. OceansOriginals

Hi everyone.. It’s been a while.. I haven’t been crocheting (or doing anything really) for a little while..I was a bit under the weather and so, my motivation was basically non- existent. The actual weather for the last couple days has been quite dreary as it’s the Rainy Season. The rain, combined with the flu made for lazy days but I’m happy to say things are getting back on track and I made this little guy to brighten up my rainy day.

I’m heading this up as a keychain pattern but I will probably just hang it somewhere.

This is my 1st attempt at Amigurumi. It’s a really simple pattern and I think it turned out really well and super adorable (I need to work on my photography skills though).

Here’s the pattern..

I used a 3mm hook and size 3 crochet thread.

2HDCtog

Yarn over, insert into stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, insert into stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 5 loops on hook.

For the 1st 2HDC of the row, chain 1,yarn over insert into stitch, pull up a loop,  yarn over, insert into stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 5 loops on hook.

2HDCdec

yarn over, insert into stitch, pull up a loop,  insert into next stitch, pull up a loop,  pull through 5 loops on hook.

Create a magic circle

R1: 5HDC

R2: 2HDC in each stitch of previous round (10stitches)

R3: *2HDCtog, 2 groups of 2HDCtog in next stitch* 5 times. (15stitches)

R4-7: 2HDCtog in each stitch (15stitches)

Now we start to decrease

R8: *2HDCdec, 2HDC in the next stitch* 5 times. (10stitches)

Stuff the pineapple here.

R9: *2HDCdec* 5 times. (5stitches)

Fasten off.

LEAVES

*Chain 6. 2slip stitch, HDC, 2DC in same stitch, HDC, SC. slip stitch in same stitch as the SC*.

Repeat ** 2 more times.

*Chain 6. 3slip stitch, 2HDC in same stitch, 2DC in same stitch, HDC in same stitch, SC. slip stitch in SC of the middle leave from the “3 leaves group” above*.

Repeat ** 4 more times.

Fasten off, leaving a relatively large tail to sew onto the pineapple.

Manipulate the leaves as you are sewing to make it stand tall.

Add beads for eyes or use black thread to sew make them (and the mouth) using a simple embroidery stitch.

Weave in all ends and hide the black thread in the pineapple.
